l am writing to soticit your suggestions for an important initiative retating to pubtic
transport. As you know, traffic congestion causes severe pottution, besides wastage of time and money’ The Government of Dethi has successfutty implemented the Odd-Even scheme provide lmmediate relief, but tong-term solutrons are necessary, especiatty for substitutint go the use of cars and two-wheeters by pubtic transport. Last-mite connectivity from metro stations rs also necessary.
The government plans to ensure a rapid increase in the number of DTC/ctuster buses, but this atone woutd not sotve the probtem.
To bring a turn-around jn pubtic transport, the govt. Plans to introduce app-based
premium bus service that wilI enable commuters to choose their route as we[[ as the service provider with assured timings for departure and arriva[.

Thrs initiative would be foltowed up by measure to improve last mite connectivity
through metro shuttte servrces.
More buses wilI hetp reduce pottution and traffic congestion by substituting cars and two-wheeters on the roads. Competition, technotogy and innovation woutd ensure efficient
and cheaper bus services for the commuters.
